Before I go try to find some news ones, thought I'd check here first. I need the left and right hand side bell housing stiffeners that are used on a 1HZ/1HDT with an H55. Anyone?

Try ENS Toyota in Saskatoon.

Brett,

They are normally used for additional support for aluminum bell housings.

I have an early 1984/5 3B/H55 with the cast bell housing and it does not utilize the stiffeners. I have another later model 86/87 3B /H55 with an aluminum bell housing and they are in the exploded assembly views.

So given the mass of the transmission and transfer case, the logical reason for their use is to minimize the inhearent fatigue characteristics of aluminum at the upper mounting points (thus the stiffeners lower position)

My 2 cents worth.
