1HZ diesel engine, 5 speed transmission and vac split transfer case for sale. Engine has been test run and compression and leak down tests performed.
Compression was 540psi across the board on cold/warm test. I can't recall the leakdown numbers, but they were very good.
Tranny crossmember and shifters (RHD) included. No a/c pump, but alternator is there....all are 24V.
Engine is crated and located in North Carolina, ready to drop off at Old Dominion or other freight hub. Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD

how many miles are on this setup? where did it come from? how come you're selling it instead of installing it in that 45?!;)

I don't know exactly, as the motor was pulled already when I bought it in Japan. I can check my emails and see if the mileage was ever stated.....for some reason 70,000km comes to mind, but that may be the other 13b-t I have. Ahh...and that's the eternal debate. When I ran this motor yesterday, it sounded SO sweet...man, it really made me want to keep it. I can't believe just how smooth it idles even in solid steel motor mounts of my jig. I have been wrestling with which motor to actually install for over a year. What I finally took it down to, is I really want a turbo, and a direct injected motor seems like the better route for what monster plans I have in mind. But...if it doesn't sell by the time the 2F is pulled, I might put it in there just to "look" at how it fits. :) Okay...might drive it around a bit. These motors are so simple, it would be cake to pop it in and drive it around...especially since most of the mods I will have to do for either engine anyway.
But to answer your last question....I just can't bring myself to modify the 45 in any way. It runs so nice just as it is, why mess with a good thing?

This is a quote from the seller's original email about the engine. "It is a 1HZ, recent vintage, 90,000 kms, complete with tranny and TC."

I don't know the exact year other than "recent vintage".

And yes, I will be selling the 2F. I need to do a compression check on it before I pull it though. It's a full Kali smog unit....everything there and operational. Since you are in Ga, I don't know why you would want a fully smogged Kali motor though. I suppose I could ebay the smog equip and sell you the rest.
I do have a local interested in the 2F, but that was a year ago...don't know if he's still interested.

Don't care about the smoggy stuff....I came from Cali and the land of smog checks :) Now I live in a county that doesn't even require emissions testing for new cars....long live black smoke :)

My F is tired and really leaky....just thinking it would be easier/cheaper to get something in working form than rebuild the F. Let me know what you're thinking as far as a price/ and location. Also, things like bellhousing/tranny/t-case included? Not in a terrible hurry as the funds are low...Thanks.

I'd be interested in the smog parts if the price was right. I mostly need a smog pump bracket, but I'd take the vacuum valves and their brackets for spares.

We'll see how that goes. I have several people inquiring about the 1hz diesel, so this may happen much sooner than I expected. I spent a good deal of time dismantling the transplant for my truck tonight, so I'm making good progress finally. I'll run compression test on my 2f this weekend so I'll know where it stands. Sure hate to pull a good motor, but diesel has been calling me for over a year now.....and the 13b-t is finally looking good.

rutbeer,
buddy, give your head a serious shake...get rid of the 2F and stick the 1HZ in there... you will regret it if you don't.

do the compression test but do it with the idea of unloading the gas guzzling 6...

just my view on the matter..

I don't follow you. The 2F is definitely coming out....always has been in the plan. The question was/is to 13b-t or 1hz. After much talking with others and looking at my long term plans, I felt the 13b-t was better for what I was doing.
But....the darn 1hz sounds so sweet and idles so smooth....
I guess if the 13b-t doesn't wet my whistle after intercooling, I'll look for a 15b-t. :)

Pic attached is as the motor was pulled. It is fully crated now.....

the 1HZ stock puts out the same horsepower as the 13BT, and is QUIET. add a turbo and suddenly you are out running the 80 series with 1/2 again to double the fuel milage and TONS of torque. parts are easily found for the 1HZ and the 13BT will just keep getting more and more harder to find...

i guess you have already made up your mind but i thought i would voice my feelings on the matter...

13bt should sell easily to the 3B crowd...

okay, i will shut up now...

This motor is SOLD. Buyer picked it up today and drove off with after watching it run. I guess I won't be playing with that one anymore.....oh well.
