Hey everyone, ive got a 2004 79 series 1HZJ79R with a steering box thats buggered, just wondering if theres a cheaper option other than a $750 rebuild of the box? Cheers!

hey mate i'm not sure that anything else would work. unless a hzj75 one would fit. you could post a picture and ill see if it matches my 75. other than that you could get a wrecker one but no telling of its condition that way. also welcome to mud.
The correct part number is 44110-60390. The pitman arm can be reused since the new box does not come with a pitman arm.
That said, a rebuild for $750 (if they are indeed rebuilding... Most of the time it's just a reseal and a clean up of parts) is a good deal vs a new unit.
