honestly i dont even know. i got it from a shop that does only battery and starter stuff and it was an off the shelf item with no packaging. just a heavy duty relay i think

it looks identical to this though

and for follow up on how it’s worked the last couple years it hasn’t missed a start. i did break one of these relays though tightening the bolts in cold weather. the plastic housing broke so i had to put another one on.

done. it worked. good fix as far as i can tell. this is the wiring diagram they gave me. i drew 12v power right off the battery cable on the starter and ran it to the battery post on the solenoid and then ran another wire back to the ignition terminal. the ignition wire then triggers the solinoid to close the circuit. it doesn’t take much power to close the circuit so even though there’s not enough power to energize the starter there is enough to activate the remote solenoid which then brings full amperage to the ignition terminal. really quite simple in the end.

My starter relay has burnt out.
So if I am reading this correctly there is a main wire from battery to starter motor with power full time? Then from starter motor back to this relay that the. Send power to the starter motor switch.

So when I try and start the starter motor solenoid click ones, then nothing. If I then short out the relay nothing happens other then the wires get hot. So I am not sure how this is happening with this diagram.

if you’re starter is burned out the relay won’t fix anything. you’ll just get hight loads through the wiring making the wires hot. you need a new starter. if your starter is fine but you’re not getting enough power through the old ignition wires to flip the solenoid the relay is helpful.

These starters a very robust.
If everything was working and you checked your grounds it’s possible the solenoid on the starter is worn. ITs rebuildable with cheap parts vs replacing the whole starter
