Hey all, tightening up something’s and replaced a couple pieces. Can’t find anything regarding the other rod that isn’t the throttle rod that is adjustable. My question is should this be pulling the kickdown at all like any tension?
Replaced the solenoids, cleaned out the NSS but still feel like things can be tighter

Basically the tighter you make the rod(red circle), it pulls the lever back(blue arrow) which in turn tightens/puts a load to the kickdown. Im searching for pics and people either have it tight, spread out, and everything in between. Does it matter? tighten it so it creates some load?

Im sure there would be something about it in the FSM.

As far as I'm aware and how i've done it is that top one circled in red is for adjusting the A/C RPM when it cuts in and out. The adjustment for the kickdown cable should be done on the cable itself where the threaded section is.

You're also missing a locknut on that upper adjuster you circled in red, from factory they have a nut on either side of the adjuster.

Do you happen to have the part number for the whole linkage assembly on hand? Mine are a bit worn and sloppy but the pn on partsouq doesn’t come up with any items. Cheers

Hi All,
I've been driving without the rod between the throttle and kickdown so my question is will this cause any issues with kickdown or is it related to A/C RPM like explained above?

Hello All,
Just a quick update. My problem is resolved, while I wait for the above part, I managed to simulate the rod (cable ties) just to test and it solved my flare between 2nd and 3rd. Must say she drives like a dream now, gear changes really good and no more hunting.
