Finally got new bolts, washers and nuts to replace the intake manifold gaskets. The service manual is not helpful at all. Assistance please, do I need to remove the fuel lines from the pump?

FSM is fine. Yup, lines have to come off so you must bleed after the process. Cleaning is the longest process. I loaned out a manifold and had it tanked and bead blasted at a machine shop. Right about 2.5 hours start to finish w pre cleaned manifold.

I don't remember seeing the bleeding process in the service manual. Can you please give me a description of the process?

Bleeding the injector supply lines.
Tighten all the nuts at the pump once installed. #2 is a PITA so tighten it early.
Pump the primer.
Loosen the tubes a turn or so at the injector (17mm) and crank till fuel comes out. Tighten the tubes at injectors "mostly" and try to get engine to start.
Pump the primer
While running, slightly loosen each tube at injector 1-6 til fuel leak then tighten. #3 is under crossover so use a long 17mm open end wrench.
pump the primer.
Repeat if needed.

Most friends when they open a hdt hood automatically pump the primer while asking you any questions from general accounting to tire size to quantum physics.
