Do the oversize injectors still have the dual stage function. I suspect they wont.
And do they modify the injector valves to handle more fuel?

That's nice numbers!
Do you know if the oversized injectors hurt in any way? Like is it harder to tune of use more fuel of something?
I ask as some people might need injectors overhauled and oversized is an option.

I cant see it hurting the engine if they are adjusted correctly, as in not dribbling fuel onto the piston.
They probably add a modest load onto the fuel injection pump. If you use oversize injectors, and use them as intended ,it will have to use more fuel.
Any performance increase has to come at a price.

Reviving an old thread here but where are folks getting injectors built here stateside these days? I’m debating replacing my injectors or sending them out to get rebuilt as there’s no one skilled in my area.

Any idea on current costs in the US?

I had my injectors rebuilt by Welcome to DFISPDX.com here in portland, Oregon. The guy who runs it was extremely helpful, and is very familiar with 2 stage injectors.

I did not buy him any parts, he had them in stock and sent me home with all new copper washers. I think I paid just shy of 600? He cranked up the pressure by a few bar on them too, which made a hell of a difference.

.....I should have pulled them when I sold the engine from the timing belt catastrophe.

So which shop in US is everyone getting the 1HDT injectors rebuilt from now? Just looking for some additional options other than the ones above.

The couple diesel injector shops I called locally call them pilot injectors with 2 different spray patterns and think only the new engines have 2-stage injectors. Also, they would need to replace the nozzles. Anyone know the PNs for the nozzles?

You should reach out to BECS. They do pumps and many guys on here have used them. I’m sure they do injectors too

Second this. I just had my injectors done there and it was quick & painless. They know exactly what they're doing.

Which BECS location? I'll have to ship them since I'm on the east coast.
Did you use Toyota Nozzle PN 23620-17010? I think that's the only nozzle for the 1HDT injectors.

A few have said the Whittier, CA location is best, though there is no real way to verify that. A buddy of mine had a long chat with someone at that location last month and came away very impressed.

I’m on the east coast as well. I went to their website, got their phone number, and called them to chat about it. They gave me the address to send them to. I think it came out to ~$90/injector. I sent them no parts, just my old injectors.

From what I understand they have done a lot of1HDT injectors and know what they’re doing very well. Of course I have got far enough to run the truck on the rebuilt injectors yet. Lol.

Replacing the nozzles is part of the rebuild but does the injector spray pressure also need to be within OEM spec or adjusted? Will call Doug this week.

One thing to consider is the removal of the copper injector seals. Mine were a significant emotional event to remove. I have since bought an injector seal extractor- I would have gladly paid more that the $30 or so for it if I had known.

Those are the copper washers sitting between the injector and the base of the chamber? What is the best way to remove if stuck?
