Im looking for somewhere to get my pump resealed, I live in Terrace BC but I can travel to PG if necessary. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

howdy from Prince Rupert.
Your best bet is to probably send it to Fred Holmes in Vancouver if your planning on getting it rebuilt back to stock.
What kind of truck do you have?

I think I'd being posting this on a local club site, for a better answer, try coastal cruisers or any of the northwest cruiser clubs on mud here. The more answers you get the more questions you'll get answered.

I got the throttle shaft seal on the pump replaced by Star Tech Injection in PG about a year ago. The guy in there was really helpful and seemed knowledgable fwiw

Resealed- whatever but if it needs a rebuild pull it off and ship it to Australia. DHL Air is reasonable and fast. We have done this locally and it was a mistake.

Western turbo in Winnipeg had rebuilt a I HDT pump for me ,the acsd tap broke n fell into the pump n was rubbing on the moving parts in the pump, it was running rough n lots of aluminium fillings inside the pump.if its just leaking fuel, its not hard to reseal,I have reseal 20 pumps from 1hdt,1hz,2lte and 1 Kzte.

I would also recommend Fred Holmes. Call and talk to Raj

We have found some problems with them... I swear my pump isn't the same also.

Okanagan diesel injection in Vernon BC is pretty good. 20+ years exp. The Denso pumps are just a liscenced copy of the Bosch VE/VP pumps with very small differences in governor and timing advance.

Northwest fuel injection http://www.nwfuel.ca/ They are the best, and most of the local "diesel experts" actually send their injectors and pump work out to NW.

I've been working in the automotive repair industry for 10+ years in the lower mainland and they are by far the best diesel injection shop around.

90Ltd or 91ltf... I forget his handle but he has brought his pump there and said they screwed something up and didn't work the same... Don't quote me thou.

When I talked to them about my truck 4 years ago they won't take your truck but rather you have to pull your pump and bring it to them or else they won't touch it...

Its probably a good indication they know what they are doing, because pump/injector rebuilds is all they do.
We have quite a few shops like that in oz ,usually 1 or 2 men set ups working in a small sterile room that is almost like a surgery, well it is ,for fuel pumps

Fred Holms is not a "sterile room". I have stood in their "sterile room". In Australia, Malaysia etc, that may be the norm, not here.

NW has a room like that, like a hospital surgery room.

They do work on trucks in there shop but its mostly commercial and 90% of there business is pumps from other commercial truck repair and heavy equipment shops.

Having said that I have heard horror stories about all the local shops from one person or another. Most of the smoking 1HD's locally are thanks to Fried Holms. I would not go near that shop with a 10ft pole, walked in once and turned around and walked tight back out with out even talking to anyone.

They should be because the tolerances in fuel pumps is like a swiss watch. Tiny bits of metal filings near a plunger and pump head will kill the pump pressure pretty quick.

We clean the pumps we get in 4 different steps after disassembly in a clean room.
Seperate room for washing parts, air dried/blasted after each step and checked for debris each time, and meticulously reassembled with close attention to wear items.
Basically every pump is treated the same and dealt with as a rebuild no matter what. Same goes for turbos. Degreased, bead blasted, rebuilt and balanced, etc. They look brand new when done, not just new bearings and seals and here you go. Small shop with two vehicle service bays on the one side. Great guys to work and deal with.

I have no problem taking them injectors from our big Detroits or Cats.. but these are a different animal. The Injector from one of our DD 8V92TAs is like a sledge hammer whereas the 2 stage one from an HDT is like a Stradivarius.

Or our 3408T Cats (V8- 550hp continuous) 8 injectors turned around faster, better and far cheaper than the 6 from my HDT?

I will not do business with my HDT stuff locally. It would be better to buy a cheap car to drive for the duration your pump/injectors are on an Australian vacation and then sell said cheap car upon their return.

But don't listen to me- I just surf the web 24/7. Don't have anything to do with industrial/marine diesel maintenance here in the lower mainland at all. Nope. Been lying for 20+ years. Have not dealt with most injection shops here either with varying degrees of success either over the same period.

Sorry for the rant- to synopsize: To get your HDT pump/injectors reco-ed here is a s***shoot. but you might get lucky?

Kind of hard to follow but sounds like your saying you work for okanagan diesel services

Sure do.
Ive been taking them stuff for years and eventually got a job there.

As far a turnaround on the HD-T injectors, two stage injectors take hours to get right if they are rebuilds. Even brand new ones don't always spec out. You have to calibrate both stages just right and match them all together. Single stage injectors can be done in about an hour for all 6-8 easy.
We have a machine that does the duals and ive seen a guy stand there for an hour just on a single stick getting it right.

Good on you, good to know. Hope to hear some feed back on some of your work, not many out there doing the two stage injectors. I'll definitely let the new option be known. On a side note I tried getting my cam ground deeper so to stroke my plunger ,something you guys want to try. Couldn't believe I couldn't get it done locally.
