hi guys so I have no issues using the starter bump trick to remove the crank bolt however I need a way to tighten the bolt to spec

I found a tool on Amazon and was wondering if anyone here knows if it will work to hold the pulley in place ***update this tool will not work on 1HD-T

I don't think so. I can't picture anything for it to grip to, but maybe wrong

Do you have access to a welder?

Here's what I did for my 1fz-fe

thanks for this picture it sure helps I think I can utilize a universal cam holder like this and use the 12mm bolts to hold the pulley

i was also wondering have you changed the seals behind the pulley and does the timeing gear cover have to come out to replace?

I bought a giant Makita impact wrench and drove it home. Probably makes some people cringe, but it worked.
A guy on the forum did the same recently and the balancer ate his crank...just something to think about.

Ate the crank due to impact gun?

wow cracked from tightening... I guess loosening wouldn't be a problem for me never heard of a crank cracking from tightening... best ill tighten by hand.

To answer my own question you can get to the seal after removing the crank pulley without removing the timeing gear cover.
there is also an O-ring inside the pulley

parts I have on order:
9516120516 KEY(FOR CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR)
9020127001 WASHER, PLATE(FOR CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SET)
9010524001 BOLT(FOR CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SET)
1340717010 PULLEY, CRANKSHAFT, NO.2
9672135042 RING, O
1340817010 PULLEY, CRANKSHAFT
9031158006 SEAL, OIL(FOR TIMING CHAIN OR BELT COVER)
9031158007 SEAL, OIL(FOR TIMING CHAIN OR BELT COVER)

I have another question parts diagram shows 2 seals I'm assuming one is for the crank and other for the injection pump or Vacuum pump???

A generic harmonic balancer tool will work. Just used grade 8/10 to hold it to the HB and have good thread contact.

We have a tool I made for it in the shop as well, both work just fine.

Rent a torque wrench that will do 365ftlbs if you don’t have one.

Cheers

That’s a bingo.

I would suggest this issue is from under-tightening, not over-tightening. A 180 ft lbs impact isn't going to get close to the 365 ft lbs spec.
