Hey,

I just wanted to replace the timing belt, front seals and so on and then noticed a play in the oil pump gear / bearing.
As this is not a serviceable part and therefore the whole oil pump / timing gear housing has to be replaced and because I won't be easily able to get this deep into the engine's front again:

- Is this play normal or should I replace the pump / gear housing?
- Anything else I should be replacing now rather than being sorry later?

Video of play:

PS: Units are metric (~ 0.15mm play)

Cheers,
Mark

That is normal.

Cheers
Cheers, mate.
Was hoping to hear that^^

Another thing:
Is it worth to remove the timing gear housing to replace the gasket behind it? (Part number: 1519317010)
As I have resealed the oil pan a few months ago, I'd like to avoid doing it again.
Maybe it's even possible to remove the housing without removing the oil pan?
The FSM states I gotta remove it, though.

Mark
