1FZFE Idler Pulley (1 Viewer)

So what is the deal with this thing.?
Barely touches the belt if at all, and I am sure is the source of the squeak at idle.

Should I just remove it?

Some 1FZFE dont even come with it......

You can remove it. I'm running mine but no squeaks. Are you running OEM belts? If you have the ribbed or cogged belts they can cause noise.

How many are running without an idler pulley

After a recent belt change, the idler pulley (one right under the alternator) started making a loud whining noise. After I took the pulley out (replug the hole with the existing bolt), the sound is gone and the engine is nice and quiet. I don't know why the that kind of sound was coming from...

Thinking it will come off for now. When I get rich and can afford a $50 pulley, I may buy one. But for now, new belts, no pulley.
