Hi looking for some leads to help me figure out what's making my auto tranny slip.
1998 4WD, 2.7, A340F, 215 thousand miles, never been serviced, fluid full and does not smell burnt.
Slips at start up when cold, will not move.
When the engine is warmed up it engages and does not slip. And drive able.
What should I look into?
Thanks in advance, I could not find a thread on this problem. John

Try LUCAS brand trans fix , it worked on my same symptoms on my 1995 T-100 3.4 4WD W/od trans 287K Miles on it , and i always changed fluid every 15K with Mobile 1 ATF

i never found the slipping cause except maybe clutch disc bands packs worn ?

I'm reading up on these trannys and they are all saying that they are very superior units, Also some remmideys are Throttle position sensor out of adjustment, Thats what I want, a cheap fix. I'm reluctant to put in an additive like Trans x stop leak. Might try a drain and refill?

What fixed the problem?

See post #4 When the check engine light came on at least I could check the code to see what the problem was. Find out for sure Tuesday.
