Have been having trouble with the remote key. I just changed the battery but still need to stand next to the drivers door for the system to work. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Ive seen threads referring to issues like this but I'd be interested to know about extending the range too.

What kind of range do most of y'all get?

99 LC. Around 20-30 feet. I can lock/unlock from inside the garage through the garage door with the LC parked outside.

I almost have to be in the truck. My neighbor is a pre owned dealer and told me to buy a new key. At $150 I figured I'd ask first.

Seems like the key either works or doesnt and the only thing inside that could make the range shorten would be a drop in voltage from the battery.

Does anyone know where the antenna for the reciever in the car is?

Was this ever solved?

Have the same issue with my 100 series. Have to stand very near the driver door in order to unlock the doors. New battery on the car. New battery as well on the remote. Is there an antenna which maybe needs fixing inside the car so the range can be extended.

Thanks

Mine is going the same way. Given the slow but sure drop in effective range, the remote battery seems the most likely culprit. I'll renew that and report back.

Also, its been mentioned before that holding the tip of the key blade to your chin while pushing the button increases effective range. Sounds weird, but works and has a reasonable justification in basic RF theory. Don't try to explain it to your kids though. Tinfoil hat territory.

Same thing here! I have to be really close for it to work. New battery in the remote didn't help at all. A fix for this would be awesome!

+1 as well, its dropped over the past few years. If im standing at the back of my vehicle I still would have to go up to it; practically lean on the LC!!
