Well my MFD went out as well couple of days ago, I guess my 06 is getting this! Does the radio have external rcas for amps? And the LC gets the updated model woot!

I have to be honest, I doubt I am up for doing the install myself. Any idea what a competent audio/elec shop would charge for this install, or at least how many hours?
I’m. Having the shop do it.
I’ll have news soon.

Martianluther, If you have any news I'd like to hear it. I have a 98 LX that I need to upgrade and debating whether to go the Tesla style or a double DIN. On Rhino radios it specifically says it has to use the climate control module from the LC that has the more analog turn knobs. Can that unit also be adapted to the LX or am I out of luck on this one?

There is risk at every turn with these units.

Audio / electronic guys seem to be able to hack these units.

The one on rhinos website says it can work for your unit. Then the crowd says certain functions aren’t working properly.

My guess is that the px3 might be better for the 98-02 than the px6.

There was far too much at risk for me to mess it up so I took my px6 to the shop and they installed it in my 07 LC.

Everything seems to work as planned. I have an irritating red light (air bag ) on my dash but ac and blue and music and cell phone etc all work in my truck. I showed the installer the step by step from this site. He didn’t need it.

I came back a few hours later and he had most of it working.

I’m now trying to figure out how to program the unit so I can either fix or bypass some of its noises and user experience. It takes a few steps to set up WiFi or to switch between applications so it’s a bit clunky but I’ll take it over the old deck anyway. If my AC didn’t work right I would have a lot of reasons to return it. So far, my ac works and all the buttons perform their job properly. I was told the 07 might have less issues and be more plug n play. I can’t say. My installer couldn’t get the oem camera to work. Other people were successful at that. Some of this requires our thinking the unit. I bought a pioneer he back up camera and I’m glad I did. It was another $200 I didn’t plan on spending but it works very well in the same location of the oem.

I wish I had more insight about this product.
Someone needs to maybe get with an interpreter who knows something about our trucks and have them translate how to update the software if possible. How to set the unit up to display the correct image. Mine still has a yellow Lamborghini. How to set up user controls and what launcher app works best.

I’m next going to reset my unit and see what I can find. I’m having to many buttons on screen to perform the same task. I’d like to map some short cuts. What I don’t have much of is the time to get into it. When I get more info I’ll post.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. Both my stereo and climate control switches don't work properly and I think to replace them with a double DIN and a new climate switch panel will cost more than this thing will with a fraction of the capabilities. I'm going to find an audio place in town and see what they think. This is definitely beyond me. Not like installing CD players in my 90's Tacoma in high school haha.

Also, you said the PX3 may work better than the PX6? That shouldn't do it considering it's just a 6-core processor instead of 3, but is it the software in it that makes it have more issues maybe?

Also, one little question: How well has the altimeter worked on it? In the one little clip I could find it seemed jumpy and inaccurate, but they easily could be because it was on a table as a demonstration.

So I received my unit and installed it. I was wondering if anyone here had any issue with the radio not working?

So the unit will come with apple car play/android built in.

If your in an Lx the backup camera isn’t compatible, so you’ll need one of those, from rhino or where ever.

I’m getting the tpms (external for me) cus it would be great to have the read out of the tire pressure. This you can add for free, or with the group buy you get 1 accesory (<$70) for free. I’m also gettin the odb II WiFi guy. These are both add ons and. It needed to.
Does anyone know what this symbol is on the Tesla screen, my sound has stopped after a flat battery so I’m wondering if it’s locked

Symbol is usb
Still no sound so maybe amp is dead , a little strange as it happened after a completely dead battery and a jump start

I have a 2004 and my MFD is toast. Definitely considering this option. Worried about installation is the only reason I’m hesitant.

I have an 2001 LX470. Contacted Rhino radios and they said the LC version would not work on my car. Really bummed right now as I really wanted one of these to work. Anyone know of another outfit that has a similar product to the LX, or know an installer in southern CA that could make the LC version work?

Anyone have or experience a loud hum after getting the unit installed? I had mine professionally installed and they pulled it and put back in the factory unit after they couldn’t get it to quit humming. They spent a few hours troubleshooting. End result is I have a “bad,” new unit and the factory unit is back in.

Did they replace?
