If you remove the LX450 exterior cladding around the doors etc, is it just like the TLC underneath? Anyone ever do that?

Thanks,

Mike Ryan

Yes, except there's a bunch of holes to fill.:meh:

I think it would look better?

If you go through the cost/time to fill each hole properly and paint then it will look like every other LC with out flairs. I thought about it with mine when I was doing my body work but decided against it. The Rockers alone have 20+ holes on each side, doors 8+, front fender 6+, rear quarter 10+, rear tailgate 10+ again. Its a lot of filling to do for no real benefit in the end. Some like the cladding others do not. Up to you if its worth it.

That decides it then. Thanks all, I now love the cladding!!! LOL although it may look better all black vs grey.

HAHA I had the same reaction. I would say the gray looks a lot better than the goldy silver I have. I plan to paint mine the dark gray some day.

If one decides to take them off to be painted, is it easy to put them back on? Do I need new clips? Thanks.

Its a pain in the ass and the clips are not cheap. I took off a few and I would not want to do it again. If I repaint mine I will do it on the truck.

Rhino'd all my cladding in black. I like the look of the arb in black matching up with the cladding then my black slidders, into a black rear bumper, with black rims, so I decided the cladding should be black. Makes the whole bottom of the truck black.

Nice! I was thinking the same but did you have to take it off to be lined or did they do it attached? If you dont mind, how much it cost you? Cheers
