Materials required to replace factory power steering cooler

4x 4" 1/4" grade bolts
4x 1/4" lock washers
4x 1/4" nuts
1x 13" long alluminum finned cooler from Summit
6 feet of 3/8" low pressure power steering hose
4 hose clamps that fit the power steering hose

while your in there replace your 1/2" feed line to the pump as there is a good chance you need to replace it, replace silly pinch clamps with gear clamps

Hey I have the same steering cooler! Just havent installed it, thanks for the write up! I also have a new OE High Pressure line and steering pump to throw in the mix.

And those pinch clamps rule, the screw clamps just chew your hoses up!

JUst checking in...What's going on in here?

Looking forward to seeing how this goes so I can start planning my build :)

whats going on.... dealing with water in my power steering system.... such a pain, Ive flushed the system out mulitple times and still have water.... soooo thats not too much fun listening to my pump scream at me

I ordered new Corbeau XRS Seats for her today as the quote for new leather and padding was more than two new seats

I drilled out all the broken bolts on the rear bumper, next week Ill be getting them tapped and cleaned up for the new bumper, It should leave the garage next week in order to put a few miles on it again and get it road worthy for my trip to Montana which is coming up in a month now!

How easy/tough was the gear install? I was considering 4.88's, myself.

I personally dont do the gear install, I remove the thirds and take them to my local experts... for that part its easy, if you have lockers this is the best time to tear down the actuators and rebuild/reseal them up

I trust myself with a lot of thing, but Gears require ALOT of patience and I run short after about 5 hours hahahahaha, they also require some fairly technical knowledge, while I think I could do it with some mentorship, I also did not feel like screwing up my investment :p

Interested in seeing how the seats look/fit.

Looks great! Clean looking undetside too :O. Im sure I would put a hole in my seat doing that. Nice to see everyone rush over to help.......:|

a couple guys have them already on Mud, they look to fit just perfect

Ill take some detailed pictures and maybe a quick writeup to swapping them over

Yah suprisngly its a somewhat clean truck, one of these days I do want rip the axles out from under it and clean them up as its really the only source of rust but its all surface rust anyways

as for the help, most of the guys were new and those that would have helped were A flying a quad copter or B behind me next in line to come up the obstacle

That would be cool. Did you buy the brackets?

Yah I didnt want to both trying to make something work, added like a 100 bucks to the whole order.... I should have ordered them from the states though..... 1400 bucks for both seats and rails.... I think even with Exchange rate where it is, I think I would have been around 900 ish

@bulhas What are the specs on your TR beadlocks? Backspacing? 17"? Where did you get them from? Looking into a set also....How do you like them?

I have been debating beadlocks for a while now. Just wasn't sure if I wanted to send some SCS to OMF or go with Hutchinson, Champion, or TR. Give you your thoughts having wheeled the TR's. How often do you check the bolts?

Thanks

I love em, I went with the 17 x 8.5 with 4.0 BS, I check the torque every big trip and when doing long distances like montana ill check once or twice during mid trip, I have yet to find any issues with them

they are heavy but man is it nice in winter to are down to nothing, no second looks so far during any pullovers or cops admiring lol
