Has anyone heard of one of these? I am looking at possibly purchasing a 97 with only 73,000 original miles, one PO, for $15,700.00 and it has a badge on it that states collectors edition. Being the novice LC guy, I didn't motice anything different that any other 95-97 LC that I have looked at. Does anyone know what makes the collectors edition different than any other 97 out there?

Also... Does this seem like a good deal? It does not have lockers - but with that low mileage it may be hard to pass up.

Sorry - that makes sense. I should have done a search.

Just wondering if this sounds like a good deal? I know it would be alot better if it had the lockers, but with only 73K miles it appears to be a pretty good deal.

If you will use lockers, wait for lockers.

If not, talk him down another couple grand and call it good.

Wait for one similar with factory lockers. One of the few vehicles ever made with factory lockers, and good ones at that.

I have lockers and do not use them. Many on this board wouldn't buy an 80 without them, looking back I would've been fine w/o.

I would say buy this (w/o lockers) if it is mint and has maint. records- as much as you will hear people say "wait for lockers" on this board, many of us know how tough it is to find a mint condition cruiser with a known maint. history, with or without lockers, and this should be top priority IMHO.

If you're not going to wheel, don't bother with the lockers. Get him down a few grand and that will pay for ARB's. Or you could just use momentum..the poor man's locker :D

Hey whodat,

Since you do not use your lockers, do you want to swap front and rear axles along all the gadgets required to lock a non lock rig? I know you don't use your lockers due to flatness of FL. Do you exercise them regularly or what?

So let me know whaddyathink! Thanks.
