1996 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80, 225k mi, Asking $9,200 OBO. Located in Nashville, TN.
Excellent running condition. I would not hesitate to drive it cross country (and have). For the last few years it has been primarily a toy that sees very little use and I’d like to see it go to someone who will enjoy it. I built it up with the intention of never selling but life circumstances change! Have always used OEM Toyota parts whenever possible, no AutoZone off the shelf stuff here. Mechanical condition shows that – always starts up, doesn’t leak, and drives great. I would consider this truck rust free. It has lived an easy life in California and Tennessee. The only areas of rust are surface where paint was removed during wheeling.
Service
I have a full service history since I’ve owned it, some of the highlights (lots more – can provide documentation if desired):
- Preventative Headgasket/PHH and full engine reseal short of rear main (was not leaking)
- New radiator, water pump, hoses, blue fan clutch, and Toyota Red coolant
- Knuckle rebuilds and output shaft seal/bearing ~12k mi ago
- New tie rod ends
- New Denso factory-rebuilt alternator and battery (last 2 months)
- New brake master cylinder
Upgrades:
- Original factory F/R locked truck – work perfectly
- York OBA system with 5 gallon tank, includes oil separator and braided steel output lines
- Hand throttle
- Iron Pig Offroad transfer/transmission skid plate
- BumpItOffRoad rear swing-out high-clearance bumper
- BumpItOffRoad sliders
- 33” BFG M/T tires on Toyota FJ steelies (original 16” wheels included)
- Relocated diff breathers
- CDL button/pin 7 mod
- Cobra CB and Kenwood head unit
- Carpet replaced with Aussie vinyl kit
- Custom exhaust system with off road clearance in mind – Flowmaster 40 muffler
- Rear storage system
- Removable Trail Gear mirrors
- ScanGauge II
Disclaimers:
- This is a trail toy. There is body damage. This truck is ideal for someone who wants a mechanically sorted off-road toy that is ready to hit the trails and they won't be afraid to bang it up. All body damage is from trails, to my knowledge this truck has never been in an accident. Never has since I've owned it and I have seen no evidence that it ever was.
- There is a very slow AC leak I have not been able to pinpoint. Topping up the system with R134a at the beginning of the summer seems to keep it running through the summer without issue.
- There is a small amount of blue smoke at startup after sitting for a while, just worn valve guides.
- Passenger seat does not go back or forth. I don't believe it is gears because I don't even hear the motors whirring. I never dug into it because it is fully back and it has been fine for me in that position.
Pictures are of the truck as it stands. I will be cleaning it up in the next week or two and getting more detailed pictures. I will also try and take care of some of the body damage/paint needs. I have color-matched paint in the box I never got around to using. I will adjust the post and pricing as those items change.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
