$8000

Located in Lafayette, LA
168k miles
Factory Lockers
Pearl/Champagne
OME J lift w/ Slee caster plates
315 Goodyear Duratracs with plenty of tread left
Spare tire is a Interco super swamper mounted in stock location

Radiator replaced in 2011
PHH was replaced by PO
Truck spent its life in Atlanta until I bought it from the original owner in 2009 and brought home to Louisiana.

Good stuff:

Truck has zero rust and sadly zero mud on undercarriage.
No leaks in the driveway.
Third row seats are pristine.
Runs great and I have driven it to Oklahoma and Florida a couple of times with no worries.
Rides like a champ and the J springs are ridiculously comfortable.
Factory radio and CD changer works

Bad stuff:

Front seats are cracked.
Windshield washer motor is going out.
Rear hatch door lock will not work actuate remotely from key fob. Have to manually lock/unlock rear hatch
Front locker does not want to engage. Rear locker engages without a hitch.
Factory radio backlighting sometimes goes out.

NEVER TOOK IT OFFROAD. VERY BAD!!!!! But life just got in the way of the trail riding I planned to do in it.
The PO's wife was a prototypical soccer mom. They had no clue what the lockers were.

Growing family and some sort of reverse midlife crisis has caused me to replace this cruiser with a minivan. Maybe I will replace with yet another 40 or even a 70 one day.

Sorry to see Brian but understand where you are, hopefully we'll get you out there with us again when the kids get older. If I could flip my 80 I'd quickly jump on this and introduce it to some wheeling :D

To answer some PMs:

Routine maintenance has been kept up with.
Radiator was replaced two years ago
PHH was replaced by the PO. He didnt know what a PHH was but he described what his mechanic told him and it was definitely a busted PHH
Brand new battery
Tune up with a package from cruiserdan in 2009

I bought the cruiser with 125k miles in June 2009, it has 165k miles now

HG is original

Nice pics! Can you post pics of the interior including the third row seats?

Third row seats are in the attic. I will get them down today and put some pics up.

Bump for new pics with third row seats.

Ok I must ask, what is PHH? Stand for?

A small PITA heater hose that has caused some folks much grief, if you have a high mileage cruiser it's one of the first things I'd change for peace of mind. http://www.1fzfephh.com/

Ok I must ask, what is PHH? Stand for?

"Pesky Heater Hose"

It is a section of hose about 4 inches long that is in a tough spot to access. They are a common problem and a PITA the get to.

There are several posts on mud dealing with the PHH.

Is it a hose that eventually starts to leak? What's the reason to fix? Also thanks for the info! This is a great forum. I am going to be buying an 80 once my house is finished being built and we get moved in. Have had a 40 and a 60...always loved the 80s so trying to fill the brain with knowledge on them. Thanks again!

It starts to leak and leaks on the neutral safety switch on the tranny and there is also a wiring harness junction there. It can damage both, but it's pesky simply because it's hard to get to. People replace with silicone and constant torque clamps (needed for the silicone) and it lasts the rest of the truck's life in most cases. It's actually part of a 3 piece routing that includes a short piece of hosing on top, a piece of metal tubing attached to the back of the block and then the PHH itself that is basically at the back and bottom of the driver's side of the block. Some people delete the metal tube from the equation and bypass it with a full length of hose.

Now back to this guys For Sale thread:cheers:

It's a nice truck, it's just about one tier too high and about a country away for me and my 80 desires, but it looks real nice!

GLWS!

Seems like a nice rig. Has anyone on the board actually seen this in person?

Yes he's been part of our local club for a few years it's as advertised and honestly it would be in my driveway if the little lady wouldn't have put her foot down with my current 80 and 40 projects. Someone's going to get a nice rig

So does the rear locker not engage at all? Is this something that has been checked out (i.e. need work or replacing)?

I've been in the market for a 60 but would be interested in your 80.
