I can't believe I'm doing this, and I hope I don't regret it, but I'm putting my 96 LX450 up for sale. I am about to start commuting quite a bit and want to get into a 200 for more comfort, power, etc. This truck is in fantastic mechanical condition and OK cosmetically. I am listing here first (and hopefully only). I will try to be as thorough as possible with my description.
1996 Lexus LX450
166xxx miles, will change as this is my daily
Black on tan
The good:
Full synthetic oil every 3-5K miles
PO replaced front leather which looks like new still, added seat heaters
Eclipse touchscreen NAV in dash
Still have third row seats
Headgasket replaced in 2011, at the same time had head machined, all new heater hoses in the front, new alternator brushes, valve job, PHH replaced (all parts from CDAN other than blue stripe PHH)
Summer 2013 ACC did a little over $5K worth of work including re baselined, new U joints, rebuilt drive shafts, birfs, new rotors/pads and an entire new AC system (blows ice cold in the sweltering eastern NC summers).
Last summer replaced LSPV valve, bypassed rear heaters and new aftermarket catalytic converter (single) and brand new O2 sensors
Runs like a dream, I would not hesitate to jump in it and drive anywhere tomorrow
The bad:
No lockers
The paint is OK, faded on the hood
I sprayed the bumpers and trim black, looks OK from 10FT but some rougher spots up close
Minor surface rust on front bumper (no other body rust including lift gate)
Dash cracked on driver side
Wear to steering wheel and arm rest
Both front seats need gears replaced to move
Antenna stuck
Tires are Michelin LTX MS 275/85R16 that came on it, so have about 40K miles, unfortunately look like they could go another 40K…
Running boards are off, I'm sure I could find them but they would no longer match
Not sure if this is bad or good but the shocks/springs need to be replaced, I know it's an expense but you get to pick what you want!
Asking price: $9000 OBO
It's pretty gloomy here now so I will try to get photos up soon. I am located in Greenville, NC currently. Could easily meet in central KY (or anywhere within reason) as well. Would prefer not to ship.
Contact me by PM, email or call/text. Prefer text/email as I work crazy hours.
