No, the fuel smell is something else. The lines are plugged and it was removed about 30k miles ago with no ill effects. It's always had it and mechanics have failed to find the source. I pulled it in Wyoming heading over the 10k pass into Lander after it got so clogged I stalled out. The only time in 4 years of travel I had to pull over due to the engine cutting out. That said, it's the only thing missing from the Evap system so reinstalling should be easy if you live in a state that requires it. I don't. The CEL comes on now due to the front O2 sensor getting damaged by my old nasty exhaust that was replaced last year.
