craigslist 1995 HDJ81 Turbo Diesel in Salt Lake

Found this while browsing KSL, SLC's Craigslist equivalent. I don't know much about these, but I thought someone here might be interested.

Not sure how he got a 95 through customs? I'd check on the title.

I wondered that myself... It should have to be 25 years or older, correct? It has the face-lifted front grille, which by the US timeline would imply 1995 or newer, but lacks the updated interior/airbags that were added for 1995. Granted its JDM, but if anything I would think the Japanese market would have gotten the updated interior prior to the US market, not after.

This one is definitely peculiar. Its located about 10 minutes from where I work and live, so if anyone is seriously interested and would like me to kick the tires, let me know. I'd have a hard time evaluating the mechanical integrity, but I could try to get the backstory.

Vin# in the discription says it was built in March of 1991. He just put in a vin for a 1995 since the site only allows 17 digit vins. Ad also says it's straight from Japan, so probably needs a fair bit of maintenance before it becomes someone's daily driver, I doubt it's been done at that price point, but I'm just speculating.
