1994 FJ80 oil pump drive gear

Getting ready to put the 1FZFE back together and the oil pump drive gear key and keyway have lot of slop in their mating...has anyone dealt with this when overhauling the beast....

The oil pump drive gear is NOT keyed to the crankshaft in the 1FZ. It is clamped in place by the crank shaft pulley.

Did you ever get an official answer on this one? I've got the same situation, and everybody seems to be closed over the holidays. Hate to start putting this thing back together if it's needing to be replaced. I don't think I've ever seen a keyway with any kind of slack in it..
