This is my Ca Diesel Titled and Registered 1994 LHD 4BT Diesel 80 with NV4500 5 Speed and Twin Sticked Orion Crawler transfer case. After almost 13 years of adventures with “Big Red”(was originally named when it was stock red by my kids) it’s time to thin my cruiser fleet down. If you are looking for a original paint, mint collector 80 this is not for you. If you want a purpose built proven crawler, desert adventure ,apocalypse escape vehicle this fits the bill and keep reading. Gets loads of attention wherever you go. The engine and trans are tucked up hi into cab so the trans and t case are above frame rails for ultimate ground clearance( nothing hangs below the transmission crossmember) I’m sure I’m forgetting stuff but here is a list off the top of my head . The bad:
Odometer stopped working at 193000 a couple years ago(have spare cluster)
Salvage title
It’s not perfect but its a sweet rig.
Bondo on rear 1/4 panel and a couple other places(have new 1/4 panel included)
Does it have bondo?(yes right rear 1/4 panel has a lot and have a new panel for it included with sale of it bothers you and you want to tackel
does it have a salvage title?(yes prior to my ownership so don’t know story )
is it loud?(yes it’s a 4bt) does it get good MPG? (Yes not sure exact but close to 2x better than gasser 80) 65 MPH is 1900 rpm sweet spot for fuel economy but easily will go 75.
