1992 Sunroof/Moonroof issues

I have looked with a variety of search terms for the issue/s I am having with my sunroof. It will tilt up but not down, I have to lower it manually with a screwdriver.
It will not slide open therefore I can't tell if it would slide close. I have checked fuses and tried another switch (I have the same problem with other control switch).
I have read that some have wire issues on the driver side foot panel. Would the '92 have the same issues there due to moisture/water entry?
Any help is much appreciated...

As a follow up to this, I used SeaFoam Deep Creep to clean any moving part. For now this has worked and everything is functioning normally. I did read posts on the 100 board that everything needed to be lubed well or issues could arise.

Hope this helps if someone else has to deal with this...

I'm having the exact same issue with my 1992 Series 80. It seems that lubing the tracks is the go-to suggestion, however, that can't be done if it cannot open or it is erratic as to what it wants to do. Obviously, as you said @jakesiar, I will lube the tracks. First, I have to get it to open.

Is there anyone who may want to post any other suggestions as to how to get it to open so we can lube the mechanism and tracks up?
