For sale:
1992 HZJ80 LHD 5 speed 1HZ 220,000kms
Ambulance/barn doors in the back
Vinyl floors, basic interior ("poverty pack")
Very rare model in N-A, imported from Europe 3 years ago by previous owner
Licenced in Ontario Canada

Selling because I bought a Dodge Cummins 4x4 pickup to haul truck camper, and can't justify owning two 4x4's.

- Very good body, chassis, clean interior. Runs very well.
- Great 1HZ engine, smooth running, good power, reliable
- New transmission and clutch installed in UK in 2003 (173,000 kms)
- Major front end/axle repair/overhaul by Toyota in 2008 $2300 213,000 kms
- Transmission and transfer case oil replaced with synthetic
- "Tiny-tach" (digital tach) installed
- "Engine Watchdog" Australian engine temperature gauge installed
- New Class III hitch installed
- Timing belt and tensioner replaced last year
- Noise proofing (brown-bread) installed in cargo last year
- Stainless steel exhaust and muffler installed 2 years ago (from manifold almost to the very back - rear stock section was good)
- 31" BFG AT's with plenty of thread left
- No rust issues, has likely been repainted at some point in the past
- Mechanically in very good condition
- Body straight and never off-roaded
- Comes with bunch of new parts (hoses, belts, gaskets, t-stat, water pump, timing belt and tensioner, fuel and oil filters, etc.)
- Recently measured 10.16L/100km highway (90-100kph)

Minor issues to be fixed by new owner:
- right rear axle seal (slight leak, have all new parts for job)
- rear pinion seal on front diff (slight leak, have all new parts for job)
- fuel tank guage reads full but doesn't go lower than 1/2-3/4
- slight rust bubble under front windshield

Would need to get $12-13,000 CDN. Not in a hurry and can wait until Spring to sell, was going to put it into winter storage.

Email me at: rastlouis@rogers.com if interested.

Wow, does this even have a/c?

Would this model have the diff lockers?

No diff lockers, no AC, no turbo.
Manual windows, power door locks.
Pretty basic no-frills model, that's why it's referred to as "poverty pack"
Would make great base for expedition vehicle, given its simplicity and reliability.
Thanks for your interest.

Wow! Simplicity and technology have merged.
If a 4Runner didn't make it's way into the garage, I'd be very interested.

Bump for a nice 80 Series!

Thanks Kroll. Indeed, simple is often better, especially if taking a vehicle like this off the beaten path. I've taken another look at what I've got into the truck, and could sell it for $12-13K, so have adjusted the price. Can't go lower than that without losing money, and I don't think I should have to lose money to sell something as unique as this. If not sold this week, I'll probably store it for the winter, and put it up for sale again in the Spring (unless, of course, I should have come to my senses by then and decided to keep it!!! ;)) Cheers.
