Hey guys, wrapping up an 80 build and we used the OME 3034 coils on the rear of this project. I noticed right away that they don’t really fit the coil pads on the axle. The factory rear springs were tapered down to a smaller radius at the bottom but these ones aren’t and they don’t fit the factory coil pads securely. What’s the fix for this? Is this just how the OME coils fit? If so it seems pretty cheesy. Thanks ahead of time for the responses.

I would start by getting the correct springs for the application.
ARB does not list the 3034 springs for the 80 Series.

Wow, that’s embarrassing but sure enough! That would explain why I was having such a hard time finding any info on this coil in the FJ80. I’ll call my supplier this morning and get it corrected. I’ll see myself out, thanks for the reply.

Talked to my supplier this morning, they mistakenly ordered the 3034, meaning to order the 3043. Simple mistake and theyre willing to make it right. However, my next question is, which do you guys think will be better for this application between the 3040 and the 3043? We are running a 3039 front coil set and plan on doing a lighter winch bumper and low-pro rear bumper. Probably no spare carrier.

If I were you, I would be speaking to a Land Cruiser specialist, as opposed to playing games with a distributor who doesn't know the vehicle.
The ones listed below are highly respected and members of this community. You will get the correct parts the first time.

I appreciate the recommendation. I’ve actually worked with several LC specialist companies and had issues with all of them. I’m not going to drop names but they are very well known and you even mentioned one of them in your reply. My shop builds a lot of American trucks and Jeeps so I did have to seek out new suppliers for this build, but I cannot believe how many LC specialists I talked to that had hurt feelings when they found out I bought parts from a different LC parts supplier. This is not at all the case with my typical suppliers.

@antigravitytrev I think you are still on the wrong path. I don’t see any of the part numbers you listed on the ARB link posted above. Take a look at that link and you’ll see there are several coils available for the 80 series truck. I know they have something that will meet your needs. I’ve had personal experiences with several of these springs over the years.
Based on your description of the rear bumper and no spare tire carrier I think the 2860 could be a good match. It is rated for 50 lbs over the stock springs and should yield a lift of about 1.5-2 inches.
It was mentioned earlier, but I agree that both of the vendors listed are well known and reputable.
Good luck, post up when you get them installed.

Thanks for the info! Attached is the guide ARB Wholesalers receive, these are the part numbers we are working off of.

You are looking at competition springs. They are taller and stiffer than even "J" springs. Here is a chart that lists all the OME part numbers.

Cruiser Outfitters - https://www.cruiseroutfitters.com/tech_OME_coils.html

Cruiser Outfitters would be a good choice for ordering your suspension.
The chart you attached from Cruiser Outfitters shows the 2418-2423 p/ns as the competition coils, we are using p/ns 3039 and 3040/3043 (depending on which rear suits the customers preference better) on this build. This chart makes it seem like the part numbers we are using are just the standard application coils for the 80.
