Hey guys I have a 1991 LC with 223,000 miles. I picked it up last week. I drove it 300 miles last weekend with zero issues at all.

I just replaced the fusible link with an OEM fusible link yesterday.

Today I drove the truck another 25 miles heavy off-roading. Near the end of the 40 mile washboard road coming down a mountain at around 3000rpm in 4 lo 2st gear the truck was intermittently stalling. The check engine light would flash and then tach go to zero and it would then come back to normal.

Then it did end up stalling 2 more times but restarted immediately. Gas tank was about 3/4 full so I went o go fill it up to see if it would fix the issue.i put about 8 gallons in the tank. Once I filled it up with gas I got on the highway and was doing about 65mph and it cut out again tach would go to zero, check engine light would flash and then full power would come back. It was like a split second bog on the highway. Split second bog that jarred the whole drivetrain and then came back to full power like normal…Very strange.

I parked the truck for 2 hours; then did another 5 mile drive home with no issues.

Where to start ? I was thinking new fuel pump/new sock/plugs/wires/coil.

Any recommendations ?

Just took it on another 20 mile drive after it had a while to cool down and zero issues. It does have a small tick exhaust manifold leak. It seems like.

Hard to say: could be loose wires, or bad vacuum tubes/hoses, could be fuel system related...
What maintenance has been previously done? What have you checked/done before going out and doing "heavy off-roading"?
Lots of things to check on these old rigs. Any other specifics that you can add will be helpful to figuring these issues out.
Good luck, and let us know a bit more when you can.

The only thing that I know that was previously done was brakes.

I have done oil change, transmission fluid change, coolant change, and new fusible link.

check electrical stuff

What you're describing is electrical, specifically the ignition system.
This will not be fuel related because it takes a few seconds for the fuel pressure to bleed off and it won't act that way.

Look at wires around the distributor, alternator, spark plug wires, ignition switch, and fusible link connections since that was recently touched.

looks like there is no battery hold down on the vehicle. the battery was sliding around and pulling on the fusible link. Need to fix this. Thanks for all the input!!
