When it's time for a clutch replacement on my 1991 HDJ80, I plan to use an Excedy Safari Tough clutch kit for the job. However, the clutch I have on hand measures 300mm - and there was a 285mm option. So, a few questions:
Which size clutch does the 1991 HDJ use?
Will the 300mm fit into the bell housing of the transmission? (It should- I don't think that there are several versions of the factory transmissions about)
Will there be any other parts needed to install this clutch kit?
There are not exactly a lot of land cruiser firms here in Germany that I can easily consult with. Oddly enough, everyone here seems to think that these so-called Mercedes-Benz's are what to drive....

you will have the 275mm clutch.
you will need to put a 300mm flywheel in.

Japanese trucks have 300mm clutch disks

European have 275mm clutch disks.

Where is your truck from ?

Yours should have 300mm. The HZ flywheel has a 275mm friction surface and the HD is 300mm. If you have the 275mm and plan to change to the larger 300mm HD flywheel they also have different spline counts on the gearbox input shafts which matches the corresponding flywheel with 21 splines for HZ and 14 for HD
