Well I’ve had this listed locally for a few weeks with a few nibbles. Thought I’d throw it up here and see if there is interest.

asking $4,000

Have a 91 FJ80 with 266k miles on it. Owned it for 3 ish years with intentions of restoring(ish) and used as a daily driver.

I’ve really enjoyed it, but would like to save up for a nicer FZJ that’s locked.

I can list all the history but that could take a bit. Basically a solid 80 with little fixes here or there. Small body damage left passenger and also driver side doors are dinged. I have replacement (black color) doors from a 97(?) I think.

I was told the front axle is from a 93 but everything else is original that I know.

Exhaust needs some work as PO modified for off-roading. No cat and muffler dumps behind driver seat. Great rumbling sound but smelly.

Has no speakers or stereo. Also rear brake light is sticking on so I pull a fuse to not kill the battery.

Good stuff is no rust. Undercarriage was coated at some point and it all looks good IMO. There is a small spot under the rear carpet that would need to be treated. I’m guessing from normal cruiser window leak.

Power steering squeaks. Overhaul or new lines as it leaks a little. No oil leaks, but I’m sure it burns some. Don’t really notice during oil changes though.

I’m sure there is more to say but ask away. Wouldn’t hesitate to take this on 5/6 hours drives. It’s fun to rumble around town.

diff and 4x4 stuff seems to work like it should. New front springs from Slee and gently used bils shocks installed recently.

For those curious, I even checked under the stock roof rack mounts. No rust. And headlights from a 93. Much brighter. Oh and installed the led interior light kit. Much nicer.
