1990 FJ62 near Seattle-SOLD

SOLD
Have decided to sell my FJ62. Recently purchased a vacation home and need to get rid of some toys.

160,800 miles
Gray
All original except later Toyota pickup wheels (16's)
Excellent tires, brakes, etc.
A/C works perfectly.
Uses NO oil between changes.
Carpet has been replaced recently (before me) but seats, headliner, and door panels are original and pristine.
Original glass.
Dash in perfect condition, no cracks.
Original AM/FM/CD
Power windows and door locks all work perfectly.

NO RUST AT ALL (except small spot on tailgate chrome trim piece where chrome has worn off)

Everything works perfectly EXCEPT no power antenna, and no rear washer reservoir. No spare wheel... I have AAA!

Thats all I can think of at the moment.

I most likely can't assist in shipping until after the Holidays, as I will be in and out of town through mid-January. Can provide more photos.

$9500/OBO

Also will be selling my 78 FJ40!! Picture below.

Actually, looking for a mid-2000's 100 series Cruiser! Trying to sell 2 to get one. Getting cushy in my old age! But the 72 is a rocket!!

:)

Good luck with the sale and the hunt for the 100...both of your rigs look great

So what's the history on the FJ62? How many owners - locations, etc. How about some pictures of the frame, any rust? Where are the original wheels and where is the spare? Those wheels are fugly. How much do you want for the FJ40? Inquiring minds want to know...

GeoEng,

I MODIFIED MY RESPONSE TO YOU BECAUSE I WAS REMINDED IT MAY HAVE BEEN OUT OF LINE. IT CAUGHT ME IN A CRAPPY MOOD. I APOLOGIZE TO YOU AND MEMBERS WHO MAY HAVE BEEN CAUGHT OFF GUARD, AND HERE'S A MORE CIVILIZED ANSWER TO YOUR POST...SORRY!!

I'll try to answer a couple of your questions..

Dont know how many owners...dont have a thorough history but looks like it has never seen salt or the east coast winters. I bought from a guy here in Seattle area.

As I mentioned..NO RUST on the truck WITH the exception of a small place on the tailgate chrome trim where a small area of chrome has worn off. Only cosmetic.

I am out of town so dont have access to the undercarriage pictures. It is clean but I will try to shoot a couple this weekend and put them up.

Dont have the original wheels, never did, nor the spare.

The FJ40 is on ebay in a very recent post here on the forum.. https://forum.ih8mud.com/vehicles-trailers-sale-wanted/442647-78-fj40-ebay-rust-free.html

I'll take around $17k for the 40 to a forum member...

Cheers.

and ps...I still kinda like the wheels!! To each his own I guess!!

Well, in D-Fence of the newbie, I gotta say I'd ask similar questions on a $10,000 62 series. I've been a body man for years and have seen some pics which make you think the rig came out of a time machine only to crawl under it and find the rust monster binged and purged on the undercarriage. Basically, pics don't mean sh#t when you're thinking about dropping the ball on a $10,000 ride which is over 20 years old. Location will also help (definitely not always) in what condition the undercarriage is in. I would have "dug" up the undercarriage pics before I even thought about posting it. The number of owners is a HUGE question I want to know for a couple of reasons. Let's assume this vehicle had five owners in a fifteen year period. That's an average of three years of ownership to each owner. I'm a gambling man and I would bet good money ONE of those owners was a knucklehead and didn't give a crap about mantaining the vehicle and/or respecting it for that matter. Secondly, anyone selling a $10,000 FJ62 with a bunch of previous owners would make me think it was a pretty lemon (aka foster vehicle) passed down from one sucker to the next.

I am not saying that your cruiser is ANY of these things, just letting you know you may have been unnecessarily rough on the "rookie". Just because a person has a 1 under their username on a landcruiser site doesn't mean they are a "rookie" at buying a vehicle.

Oh yeah, by the way those rims are hideous dude.

Agree on all counts...I posted an apology to the poster! Thanks for making me aware...

And also, thanks for the bump!! :)

I gotta tell ya, the Pacific Northwest is THE place to buy a rig from. I'm not one bit surprised to see a rig look like "it emerged from a time machine". Rigs where I've lived in the southwest are nice but that yellow orb is hard on paint and interiors. Plus the temperatures are PERFECT for running autos. Here in CO we get -20 and +105. I went to college in Seattle and it is 43 degrees there +/- 2 degrees; all the time ;)

BTW, my best friends dad owns a 100 and lives in Gig Harbor.

Good luck with the other one,
Paul
