I have my suspicions that this 62 is not presented accurately.

The rig is in Washington state where a bunch of the usual scumbag flippers operate. They've got the odo rollback thing down to a science.

The Autocheck report has one single mileage entry, and that was from back in 1994. This is a huge draw for the flippers since there's no real way to validate the current odo, other than looking at the overall condition OR tracking down the previous owner.

The seats have been recovered, which takes your attention away from the overall poor condition of the interior, given the mileage is claimed to be 129K.

Snake blinders are missing.

The "winner" of the previous ebay listing for this 62 backed out.

Flipper is likely selling this 62 on a skipped Title.

The ebay account is relatively new, with no previous sales. However, the phone number ties back to a large volume of flipper listings on the web.

I don't have any firsthand knowledge of this vehicle. I am posting my opinion based on what I see and read.

Red 88 62 also on EBay has title issue on declaring mileage. Utah plates but for sale in So. Cal. Rear hatch also appears that it’s not shutting properly. Lots of shady sellers.

Looks like the work of one Derrick Marks (except the spelling is better). And looks like a lot more than 125k miles.

Look at how the front seat belt receivers are attached. Somebody is going to be mighty disappointed if this thing sells...

Crap. I’m high bidder on that thinking it could be a fair deal. And the name cigars and classic cars with 32 positive bids was good. What kind of scam are we talking here? Never get the title or just rewarding bad behavior of flippers? Or worse, never get the truck? Doesn’t eBay have that title protection plan?

Personally, I don't think the seller is D Marks/CruiserShack/any other member of the Marks family, but there are other really bad dudes up there doing some seriously sleazy stuff to cruisers... Bondo queens. Mechanical nightmares. ODO rollbacks.

Ask yourself if the condition of that cruiser is consistent with the uber low 129K miles.

Ask the seller if he's a licensed Washingtin state car dealer. If he's not, ask him to show you a copy of the Title IN HIS NAME.... not the name of the previous owner. You really don't want to buy a car on a skipped Title.

60/62's coming out of WA/OR should be purchased with great care and careful examination.

Ok. Thanks! I did win, so I’m flying out to make sure all is as advertised and will check title Out before flying out. The price I won at leaves a little left over for the typical repairs and upgrades I’ve been reading about over the last 6 mos on this forum. Appreciate the advice!

Be very careful dealing with the Marks gypsy family. Long history of fraud... Take a look at this thread before flying out there and do some research on rollbacks. As the other guy stated above, the car you won is a prime candidate for a rollback. The interiors for these things tend to hold up pretty good over time and the interior of the car looks absolutely beat to s***. A full seat recover of the seats should not happen with 128k miles unless severely abused. Ask for a picture of the guy's ID and google their last name. If its a gypsy last name, avoid it.

Ugh . Glad, but sad I spent the money to fly out. Surprise! Not the “long time owner”, but a dealer. Nicest guy but doing business for his father Rick (u might know him). Painted over rust and grey spray paint underneath covering rust. Rusted out screws and places inside that wouldn’t just come from age. Maybe it was submersed in Corpus Christi hurricane in 90’s? Leaking front end. Carfax has 100k more miles as last recorded entry than what is on odometer and in eBay add, but autocheck that I looked at before flying out had only 64k miles. I’ll prolly get kicked off eBay now for not paying. I wrote an email explaining and hope seller won’t want to pursue retribution. I thought this was the one!!!!! Crap! I’m gonna have to get into the 20k region to get a decent daily driver I can off-road with from a reputable dealer or person. A hard lesson, but it coulda been worse if I paid and regretted later.

Too bad, but not surprising. But fear not, there are good trucks out there at decent prices. It does take some time though. I think I looked for well over 6 months, and was feeling that if I didn't buy soon, the market would pass me by.

I found something, and the market hasn't changed a lot since then, and that was more than 18 months ago. People ask all sorts of crazy prices, but most sell at something a little more reasonable.

MUD is a good resource, both for finding a good truck, and as a sounding-board about potential trucks. Keep active here, post up a want ad - something will come along.

Screw ebay. You were nearly the victim of odometer fraud.
If these scumbags are LICENSED car dealers, report them to the appropriate authority in Washington state.
There's no way to recoup your travel costs, but at least you can make their lives a bit uncomfortable.

These f***ing flippers in the PacNW deserve to contract ass cancer.

Flipper has relisted the rig on ebay

Caveat emptor

If anybody finds anything in Washington get a hold of us and we will look at it for you and save you a trip out here. If it is a legit truck then they shouldnt be afraid to bring it to a shop to give it a once over.
