1989 FJ-62
184xxx miles
Cruiser came out of texas ~4-5 years ago spent a year in Durango and I have been enjoying it for 3yrs here in Price Utah.

Body and frame are clean no rust or cancer. Paint is excellent with minor fading on hood and roof. Interior is in great condidtion with the exception of the cracks in the dash pad.

Here are the things that I have done:

OME 2.5" lift heavys front & rear
Added 2.5" bracket to brake LSPV
Rodney flushed the tranny (synthetic)
Changed all fluids in diffs, transfer case, tranny, engine
New master brake cylinder & stainless soft lines (big improvement)
New radiator, hoses, thermostat, temp sending unit
Permenant window door lock relay fix (thx slc cruiser)
Replaced Vacuum tubing
New seals, bearing and brakes on rear axle
Replaced tie rod and drag link ends
Replaced dual cats and exhaust with single cat and flow master exhaust tucked up high
blacked out grill
hayden tranny cooler
led interior dome lights

Things that I plan to do if I cant find a buyer:

add 3rd row seat (main reason I want to get the 80)
replace A/C dryer canister (slow leak)

I'm selling the FJ-62 to get a WELL maintained 95-97 FZJ 80 white or gray with factory lockers. 150,000 miles or less. If someone has one with these specs and wants to trade let me know and we can discuss details josh@intermountainelectronics.com.

Heres some pics of carbon (sorry about the spot on lense) email me for more specific pics if interested.

I have added a hayden transmission cooler and also acid washed the front bumper, primed and painted it black. I'm still on the hunt for a clean white, silver or tan 80 series.

I don't have an 80 to trade any longer, but may be interested in purchasing outright.

Can you please post (or PM me) more pics (preferably with a non-phone camera);

The front bumper, before or after black paint, so I can see the desgin. Is it homemade? Is it a brand we would know? Is it aluminum?

The front seats in the normal tear/worn area.

The wheelwell lips where they all rust.

The faded paint on the hood and roof.

Is the roofrack aluminum?

What size are the tires? Looks like there is room for larger ones w/ the lift. Looks like there is decent tread left on these though.

Any other known problem areas.

Thanks.

Rich

Just did the front inner axle seals (Marlin HD seals) and replaced wheel and trunnion bearings. Also replaced rear drive line u-joints.

That's a great cruiser. From the panhandle around Amarillo, right? I really wanted to buy it when it was for sale before. Opted for a 60 series instead.

You did all the things to it I would have done- good, clean, practical upgrades.
Hope you find your 80 to trade.

Sale pending, buyer is finalizing funds...getting real itchy for an 80. Near Utah white or sage anybody anybody?

Send a pm to onesprung60 he has a built white 80 here in Utah that he might be willing to sell. You won't find a better maintained 80 than his - he is a Toyota master tech.

Nice 62 ! I hope you find what you are looking for.

Me , I wouldnt trade or sell it. I would keep it , and sell the mall cruiser beside it

Sold last night.

UtahFJ62 thanks for the tip. If anyone else has a lead on an white or sage 80 let me know I have some cash now and have a vacant spot in the garage reserved for a cruiser.
