Selling my 1988 FJ62. I bought it from TLC in 1999, and it has been very well cared for with light use (no off road) since then. The truck has 169,000 miles on it, but a new engine was installed in 2002 (including new factory short block), and I have driven only about 30,000 miles since then. Engine and service since then have been done by Waylon of The Toy Shop in San Francisco. Except for some developing rust, everything about this truck is clean, and everything is stock except TLC replaced the front seats with BMW leather seats that provide much better support. Also, the original radio (which I have retained) was replaced with a CD player. It has crank windows. Air conditioning works well. I have all service records.
Others have described this as the best handling and running truck they have seen of its vintage. Its only shortcoming is some rust, which is now visible by left side rear window, rear wheel wells, and edge of back hatch.
I am selling it only because I live in San Francisco where street parking has become a challenge, and I am not driving it enough. I would like to sell it to someone who would appreciate and use it for years to come.
