Yes, I'm the same guy who had a long thread on fixing this FJ62 and after a year at Jim Dickey's in Gardena, CA, I finally got it back. He re-did the head job and its finally running better than it ever has before.
The problem I have now is that since it had been gone for repairs, we purchased a much newer 4Runner and my newborn kid is now 10 months old. I got no time to deal with this FJ62 anymore, as I also own 2 old motorcycles that need more attention.
Over the last year, I have replaced the following items under the hood:
Head Gasket replaced; decked, valve job - full head job
(cylinder walls still had cross hatch and pistons looked perfect when head was off)
Throttle Body and intake have been completely cleaned
OEM Injectors Serviced, Cleaned and Tested
New OEM Fuel Pressure Regulator
New OEM Fuel Pulsation Dampener
New OEM Fuel Pump
Several feet of new vacuum hose
New Fuel Filters
New OEM Idle Air Control Valve
New OEM Cap, Rotor, Plugs, Wires, Air Filter
New OEM Distributor
New/Used OEM Ignitor and Coil
New Alternator
New Starter
New Bosch 02 Sensors
New Throttle Position Sensor
New Air/Smog Pump
New EGR Valve
New Temp Sensor on Thermostat Housing
New Magnaflow Muffler
New Safari 3" Lift/Shocks/Springs
New Rubber Bushings
New BVSV Valve (smog)
New OEM Master Cylinder
New Rear Brake Cylinders, drums cut w/new brake shoes
A/C works fine, put it in a CD deck too.
No rust. Check out the photos below.
Only problems is the window switches. Driver's side and one rear passenger works fine. Front passenger is sticky.
Bottom End has 30k miles on it.
Top End is nearly new, not even 200 miles now.
Miles on odometer is over 250,000.
I have over $12,000 into this vehicle with all the receipts to prove it. There's a few other sensors I replaced that I forgot to list too. Registration is current and it also passed its last smog without a hitch.
I'm asking $7500 "or best offer". I'm taking a huge lost on it, I know. I'll be moving soon so I'd like to get rid of it because it's taking up space.
No funny business! No messing around here. I'm pretty busy so I can probably only show it on the weekends, unless you're in the Orange County area and I could maybe take it to work with me. All it does now is sit in my driveway.
If you want more photos, I'll only take them and email them to you if you're a serious buyer. I really have no time for looky-loos!
