$24,500 cash/no trades
Excellent platform for 4 door pick-up/daily driver or expedition rig (see below).
This thing is a time capsule – interior smells new. Original factory markings and pristine paint on hardware in engine compartment.
Built as wagon and converted to light fire pumper for industrial use (not municipal fire department) with high top roof, service body and PTO pump. Garaged and run weekly for 25 years until retirement.
How it got here:
Wife said she wanted a fire truck for our farm – something the grandkids would enjoy, a small truck to go to the feed store, etc. I found this in New Zealand well ahead of legal import date. Bought it from broker (he purchases these things at auction in Japan for resale on South Island). Had it resprayed Freeborn Red / gray by a great shop there while waiting for legal import date (12/13).
Wife loves it but won’t drive it (RHD 5 speed, manual steering) so now looking for alternative, hence this “For Sale” listing.
The high points:
· 6,000 miles. Original, documented, etc.
· Industrial apparatus on site at Japanese industrial facility entire life – no municipal use. Always garaged and dealer serviced.
· 3 F engine (carbureted) in great shape, dual battery set up (one only required) in 12 volt.
· H55F with PTO (formerly drove centrifugal pump).
· Full floater in back with 4.11s.
· Pump, ballast, plumbing, etc. removed along with ladder racks, etc. prior to importation.
· Rear step shortened and tailgate added in NZ.
· High top added for headroom (rear seat sits high) – lots of room for overhead console/storage.
· Dash, mats, door cards, headliner, etc. are pristine.
· AM/FM/MP3 stereo unit with back up camera added for safety.
· Siren and PA system added.
· New Dunlop traction tyres on OEM split rims (16").
· Serviced by the fine folks at Torfab in Everett, WA.
How it runs:
· Cruises comfortably at 70+ MPH
· Starts quick (choke/idle knobs)
· Decent mileage (14-18 MPG)
· Plenty of grunt
· Seats four – two in great comfort, two in so-so comfort
· Storage locker beneath bench rear seat
· Has done parade duty for the last several years – always a crowd pleaser
· People follow us around - lots of smiles
