Question for you Canada to US experts....I'm a dealer in NC and was wondering if I could bring this into the states , do some tasteful mods and drive it on dealer plates until it was 25 years old and then register it. You hear so much different stuff on this, hard to know what to believe. Surely you would think it could be brought over as a "parts rig" with some mods....Not having the title is no biggie for the time being since Im a dealer. Any input welcomed.

Very interested in the rig if I could make it work.

I don't believe it is easy to bring in a whole vehicle as a parts rig. Then when it is twenty-five years old it would have to be imported and paper done at the border or port of import not at your location. I may be wrong but a buddy of mine brought a Canadian cruiser into the US back the eighties. Brought it to AZ thinking he could do all the paper work there. Wrong it needed to be done at the border. Don't remember how he got it in but in the eighties it was probably different driving across the border but to do a import it needed to be done at the border.

No opinion on the legality however there is at least one late model Land Rover D-110 running around my home town with "dealer plates" so I assume bringing in a 1988 model is doable.

the cleanest route to the US is to wait one year to Jan 2013 to bring it in.

There are other means, but not working around the 25 year rule.

That sideline being done, looks like a nice truck.

If it was a year older I would buy it. Looks nice

I want one so bad there needs to be some of these in texas

Completely agree! I really dig them. I believe if I ever complete my current project it might go up for sale in order to fund the purchase and import of one of these...

Hey, if anyone in the U.S. interested?I would be willing to put in dry storage for a year for the right price.thx

Lol I think you would be better off just trying to sell it in Canada or trying to sell it in a year.
