Although I have a rocker switch instead of a button, my switch activates the emergency flashers.

ah! I am in California right now and the truck is in Florida so Can't run outside and check it, but thank you.

Your truck probably has full floaters front and rear while I only have fronts...

Well, being in California, is it possible you could find anyone who could translate a Spanish owners manual?

been gone for over 2 weeks and started right up!

Today I am going to:
1) scrub the soft top
2) maybe try to uninstall car alarm
3) identify misc wires, etc
4) gear shifter emblem is worn as is parking brake

That switch is the hazards, and it works!

The FJ is an amazing motor. when I bought my 70 FJ40, it had been in a barn for23 years. Put a battery in, and it started , even on the old fuel.

Now you need to take it back to California! I was looking on Uship.com and it looked like the going price was about $1200 from dade county (Miami) to orange county, california

What makes it seem dangerous to you? I've heard before that these beasts have an integrated roll bar within the pillars between front and back seats.
Springs look like they have decent arch to them. Maybe new bushings in steering and suspension if they're falling apart, otherwise I'd run it as is. Lift springs would definitely make it more dangerous.

little kids riding in the back area which has no roll bar. the bushings in the springs are original / worn out / crushed / dry cracked

Nice rig. Love the soft top! What do the Cal smog cops require as it's a gasser and newer than 1975? My BJ70 is a diesel so I was off their radar when I imported mine from Canada.

Imported from Venezuela through Florida and registered it here with family member on title, insurance, and registration. not going to bother with California

Drove it for 2.5 hours at 70-75mph on the Florida turnpike this AM. It was noisy, bouncy, fun, windy, and more. It ran great the whole way there. Dropped it off at a known LC shop for some service items and a roll cage.

Will hold onto any parts that are removed in case anyone needs/wants them.

here we go with repairs, improvements, mods, and more.

1) out comes the little bit of rust under passenger's seat. seller swore NO RUST, haha
2) removal of electric windows (not oem)
3) removal of all speakers and radio
4) clutch work
5) suspension service and repairs
6) remove alarm

I was concerned about fires from old home-spun electrical work and rollovers so we are removing all non essential wiring and installing a roll cage.

I have a pair of 70 series OEM Crank up window regulators if you need some to replace the non-OEM. And a home for that rear bumper :)
