This is a rusty but running and driving 1987 FJ60. It has 238,XXX on the odometer, but the engine was rebuilt in 2005 with 205,000 miles on the odometer. This vehicle is rusty, but the drivetrain and engine are working well. 4 wheel drive works. Here's a list of things that have been done on the truck:
2001 Thermostat/Water pump (receipt)
2004 Carb rebuilt (receipt)
2005 Engine rebuilt at Automotive Engine Rebuilders in Waukesha, WI (receipt)
2012 Power steering pump replaced (receipt)
2012 Alternator replaced (receipt)
? New Radiator (no receipt, but you can see it is very new)
? New Napa Battery (no receipt, but you can see it is very new)
You guys know all the issues with these and this one exhibits the usual problems with a 60 of this age from WI. I just drove the truck from Milwaukee to my house yesterday and the fuel tank vent went bad, which meant that gas was flowing (actually spraying) out of the tank when the vehicle was running. This was rectified by removing the gas cap, so the fuel system is not pressurized. The exhaust pipe is missing from the cat back. The fuel gauge stopped working yesterday. There are no leaks in the fuel system when you leave the gas cap off, but the truck will likely need a new gas tank/fittings/straps.
The tires are BF Goodrich A/T KO blackwalls with decent tread left, could be rotated. There is a dent in the Driver's side rear door, where it was hit in a parking lot, but it still functions fine. All glass is good.
If you're coming from more than 300 miles from Westfield, WI. I highly suggest you bring a trailer or tow vehicle with you. Vehicle seems mechanically sound except for the items mentioned, however, It is a rough truck. I have a clear title in hand.
