Selling because I am up against my limits in time, money, and skills. My son and I have done a lot to this since getting it in a trade from a buddy about 15 months ago. He got it from a guy who had it in a barn for a bunch of years. That gentlemen kept it really clean and painted the lower half at some point in time. The hood, roof, and everything above the lower pin strip is original paint. Photos are extensive, showing the good and the bad. The interior is just about perfect with the exception of the 5" rip in the driver's seat.

The engine runs really well. The desmog did the trick. I am getting about 14 mpg in town. It's been my daily driver since I bought it. Only 164,XXX miles on this. Headers and high flow muffler make it roar a bit (to the extent an in-line 6 can roar anyway!). Really fun to drive but I have a job that now requires a lot of travel and I can't afford to have this one at home in the garage in addition to another car.

Recent improvements:

New tires
New shocks
Like new wheels
New lockable console
New Pioneer stereo with 4 speakers
New clutch master, slave, and SS line
New battery
New oil pan
Professionally de-smogged (there isn't much left in there!)
New fuel sending unit
New Weber 32/36
New K&N air cleaner assembly
New fluid heat riser (Man-a-fre)
New HEI distributor, plugs, and wires
New Man-a-fre headers
New SS exhaust all the way back (Meineke)
New hitch
New headlights
Wire brushed, sand blasted, and acid cleaned frame (where I could get to it)
All lubricants flushed and filled
Coolant system flushed and filled
Valve adjustment professionally done
Replaced rear output shaft seal
New sway bar linkages

Needing attention:

+ Slow drip (motor oil) from somewhere around new oil pan
+ Frame needs to be POR'd or painted (the white chalky residue in the pics is from the acid wash)
+ Frame "inserts" in back need replacement
+ Body work around wheel wells and a couple door bottoms
+ Small hole in rear bumper
+ Rear washer hose cracked somewhere inside back door
+ Rear heater removed but in perfect condition if you want to re-install
+ Lift it! It's sagging a bit on the old springs.

Not sure what else is important to you guys. Just ask and I'll feed you whatever info is helpful.

So, the price? Looking at comparable vehicles I am asking $6,500. Open to offers.

Well, we went for a long drive and talked it over and I decided to keep her. I then went home and told the wife. She said if we are keeping it we need to finish it, so I am diving in deeper and throwing more money at it!

Nice pics!

And I really like that you're doing the resto with your son.

Any chance you still have the smog parts, and if so, are they available for sale?

Looking to re-connect this crap to my 1987 FJ60 to pass smog now that I moved to a new state with smog tests.

Thanks & best wishes.

Denny
