Selling 1986 FJ60. Looks great. Drives great. I just bought it (March 2018) not knowing that the county I'm moving to requires emissions and this truck has had most of those parts removed. I don't have the time, skill, or money to get it to where it will pass so I'm going to try to cut my losses before I go too far under. Here is the listing from the individual I bought it from. His comments were spot on (except for the AC is not blowing cold). I'm looking for $16,500/obo. Vehicle is located in Norfolk, VA.
From the listing where i purchased it:
1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 resto-mod. 190,000 miles on chassis, under 11,000 miles on the motor and trans. The motor was running strong in this truck but the tranny had given up. Upgraded the motor with a 350 V8 that just underwent a complete rebuild and mated it to a rebuilt 700R4 transmission. I do not have any of the specs on the motor, but it's a pretty standard carbureted chevy 350 ci (late 80's I think, we also have a completely stock FJ60 and this one is SIGNIFICANTLY faster and still gets ~13 MPG highway). Holley Demon 625 carb, wrapped headers (probably aftermarket), new valve covers, new ignition, custom exhaust the trans shifts smoothly, 4WD still works perfectly. The truck was built a couple of years ago by the previous owner in Wyoming. Here is what was done then. New Old Man Emu lift, new 33x10.50x15 BFG tires(still like new), new 4:11 gears, new ARB touring roof rack, ARB front grill/bumper with an integrated Warn M8000 lb. winch, new IPF lights, new Tuffy lockbox; new stereo. This truck runs, drives and looks great. Unfortunately, it does have a little bit of bubbling in the paint on the passenger side over the wheel well and a spot where the paint cracked. The charcoal stripes were laid in the paint and are not decals. There is a scratch on the windshield (quoted $180 to for a new one) otherwise no problems with the car. The interior is original and in great condition for its age, tear on door panel (see picture) rear seats are super clean. AC works great, trans shifts smooth, the motor pulls strong and sounds amazing.
