I'm really bummed to be selling and have no doubt I'll end up buying another one at some point. I don't see any reason it won't drive many states away to its new home! Lots of pics at the photobucket link below http://photobucket.com/LCforSale
1986 Toyota Land Cruiser with 198k miles. 4x4 works great and is amazing in the snow. Manual transmission. Easily does 70+ on the highway and gets up to 16 mpg on the highway. I've probably owned this truck for 8 or 9 years now. Unfortunately, It really doesn't get much use and I just quit my job and decided to go into business for myself. So I guess its time to say goodbye to my baby.
Replaced the tires early this year with 33" Firestone Mud Terrains ($900). It has wider aftermarket wheels too.
The whole top end of the original 2F engine was replaced about 40k miles ago with a fresh head gasket, valves, seals, rebuilt head
water pump and radiator replaced shortly before that.
Clutch slave cylinder is about a year old.
Replaced the front brake pads recently and comes with new rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders. Not needed yet, But I have them.
Refilled diffs , transfercase and transmission fluids in the spring
Custom Flowmaster exhaust from the catback, comes out under the drivers rear quarter panel, looks and sounds good.
Smog pump was gutted not too long ago
New $100 battery from Sears this year..
AC still works and blows cold.
Heat works great.
Starts up easily
What it needs,
A new inspection. It expired last month..
Frame is fine but the body is so-so..
Its got a couple trail dings from trips to Rausche Creek but overall still pretty straight.
It has some rust. Its not to the lost cause stage by any means (see the photobucket pic link). I planned on painting the bottom half with bedliner and respraying the rest but that will be up to the new owner.
Powersteering seems to have a slow leak at the pump and makes a little noise when its cold.
Leaks a little oil but not too bad
Back bumper is dented from backing into a snow covered fire hydrant!
Overall, its a pretty good cruiser. Not by any means perfect but I probably get compliments on it once a week when I'm actually driving it. Great starting point for a mild trail rig or reliable DD.
Located in Winchester, VA (about an hour and a half from Washington DC
Asking $3500
