Found this 1986 FJ60 on the internet and just wanted to share for anyone who would be interested. The 646 area code is New York City. I have no affiliation with this person whatsoever, just saw the ad on a free classified.

This truck is amazing. It is ready to go anywhere, anytime. It is the original white paint which looks good. The interior is immaculate. More importantly though this truck is mechanically sound within the last year and a half over $6000 has been put into this truck. The suspension was comepletly overhauled about a year ago (springs, shocks, shackles), the brake system was completely rebuilt at the same time, not just the calipers and pads, but the whole system. New power brake booster, lines, everything. New fuel pump, exhaust, cooling system (radiator, fan clutch, fan, water pump), the a/c was recharged and has a new reciever dryer - it is ice cold. There is a new starter, new windshield wipers, new floor mats all around, the transfer case was rebuilt about 2 years back. There are no leaks anywhere, and it burns zero oil. I also put new australian landcruiser side view mirrors on it because the originals are very small and dangerous. All the lights and electrics work fine. This fj60 has the rear heater option so your buddies or kids dont freeze. It also has new Hella headlights which cost about $50 a piece. It idles smoothly and starts right up every time. 4 wheel drive works great and switches back into 2 wheel drive very easily. The locking hubs were rebuilt about 16 months ago and are smooth as butter to turn. There is no rot on the chassis anywhere. The body has a little rust just behind the rear fender wells, but it is not bad at all especially compared to other FJ's that I see around. This truck was built to last. It only has 163,000 miles which is very low for one of these. It can easily go 300,000 before it needs the engine rebuilt. Parts for these are readily available and there are many places that specialize just in old cruisers. These trucks are legendary, still used by the UN in Africa, and the middle east. Those of you that have actually read this far probably know what truck you are reading about. Oh it also had new Michelin tires put on about 10,000 miles ago, they still look new. I would not hesitate to take this thing cross country tomorrow. The only reason that I am selling it is because I am moving to Cali and the gas prices there are insane, about $2.80 a gallon in San Francisco. If you are looking for an economy car this is not for you. It gets about 15mpg on the highway and 12mpg in the city. This car has been very well maintained and always garaged until a few months ago. If you have questions e-mail me or drop me a ring at 646-269-6425. There is also a alpine tape deck and pioneer speakers front and rear. It is a four speed manual and is carburated. The Carburetor was replaced (not rebuilt) about 16 months ago with a new one. Sorry for the corny pic with me in it. It's the only one I have.
