I have to replace my hood release cable for my 1985 FJ60. Does anyone have any tips or pointers? Is it difficult?

My cable, the part you can see by the hood release lever is frayed and almost cut in half. Time has taken its toll i guess. My hood release does not work and it is difficult to get the hood open.
