hello I have a question about the 1985 4Runner axle. Are the Front and back axles non-floating, semi-floating or full-floating? And what does it mean?

Thank you!

Answered over in the other section, I sent him the same link. FYI: on an '85, the front is FF, rear is SF.

Rear is a semi and front is a full. The difference is that a semi floater's shafts support the weight of the vehicle and drive it. In a full floater, the weight of the vehicle is supported by the spindle of the hub and the axle shaft only propels the vehicle.

As stated above, the mini truck forum https://forum.ih8mud.com/forums/95-older-toyota-truck-tech.22/ is more directly related, but Tacoma guys run the same rear axle (with slight changes) and usually run the same front when they go SAS.
