Body condition:
When I purchased this truck from St. Louis, the only rust on the body was under the stupid chrome moldings put around the wheel wells. I removed the molding and cut out all the rust I could. I used fiberglass mesh to replace what was lost, and then rattle canned it with paint as close to a match as I could find. The results we pretty good. Very little rust has come back in the 8 years I have owned the truck, and whatever did come back, I fixed the best I could
The rear tailgate has typical rust along the bottom, which has been fixed, but it has come back.
There is the typical rear frame rust. The rear shock mount it very solid. Every fall, I scraped the flaky rust of the frame where I could reach it, and coated the frame with some rust-to-no rust paint. I POR’d it a few years ago, but the application was way too messy, so I switched to the aforementioned paint.
It appears the previous owner painted the truck at some point, but I have no record of it. There is a little overspray on one window. The paint is quite faded, but probably could be shined up a bit with some work.
The interior is in excellent shape. Only the driver seat has tears, and I put Wet Okle seat covers on the front seats. The carpet is typical, a little worn under the pedals, but no tears or missing pieces.
The dash has a small, dime sized crack about the radio.
There is a Blaupunkt Am/Fm/CD installed, with door and rear speakers.
Radio Shack CB installed in dash with remote speaker.
I have used only OEM parts where it was necessary, and always kept up with any issues.
Overall, I have been very happy with the truck. I am sad to see it go, but I really don’t use it very much anymore. Since I got the FJ Cruiser in 2006, I have only put about 3,000 miles on the 60. It’s a great truck…goes anywhere, and will last forever.
I think I have covered everything. Please respond with any questions,
Or call 973-984-7653 after 6:00 PM EST.
Truck is located in New Jersey. I will assist in anyway I can in shipping.
