looking for some help....
1984 FJ60-152K miles
desmogged
starts great, idles great, 1st gear great, shifting from 1st to any higher gears, the landcruiser stammers, stutters and almost dies-every time.

new distributer, wires, plugs, new OEM fuel pump, new weber carb, new exhaust piping
possible camshaft lobe driving fuel pump is worn?

any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Fuel starvation is my guess. A brand new carb can get clogged if it ingests gunk.
There's a test you can do to see if the fuel pump is pumping adequately. Remove fuel line from carb and crank engine with fuel line aimed at a container. There's a thread around here somewhere that details how much fuel should pump out for a span of time. I can't recall at the moment.

Get rid of the weber, pay $100 plus or minus for a Chinese copy of a Toyota non USA carb. You’ll like it much better. Better mileage as well

My father in law couldn’t believe the difference when I s*** canned his weber for one

Be sure to change out the fuel filter first. Cheap and easy.
