Wondering if such a beast exists, and I have not been able to determine after 15 minutes of searching via Google.

I've found the North American 1983 "Toyota Maintenance Procedures" FSM, Pub. No. 36780A.

When I was looking for electrical diagrams, I was able to find (and purchase) a copy of Pub. No. 36683F, Electrical Wiring Diagrams 1983 Commercial Vehicles, which includes my HJ47.

I'm wondering if there is a similar "Maintenance Procedures" manual for 1983 commercial vehicles, and if so what the Publication No. is.

Which "commercial vehicles" do you speak of ? Toyota published the same kind of manual as the Landcruiser type for all of it range.
Commercial in Toyota is a broad term. 84 dyna coaster manual
This one probably shares it diesel engine manual with Landcruiser
dyna coaster manual.webp

Here's a copy of the book I own:

as seen in this eBay auction (thankfully I paid considerably less than $89.99 AUD for my copy).

This publication includes the following vehicles' wiring diagrams for non-North American vehicles:

  • BUV
  • LITEACE
  • MODEL F
  • TOYOACE
  • HIACE
  • HILUX
  • STOUT
  • LANDCRUISER (40)
  • LANDCRUISER (60)
  • DYNA
  • COASTER
  • TRUCK
Of interest to me is the HJ47, which is not included in the North American version of this publication that deals with Land Cruisers. So I'm wondering if there is the same distinction made in the "Maintenance Procesures" series of FSMs and that there is a Commercial Vehicles book to match the North American 1983 "Toyota Maintenance Procedures" FSM, Pub. No. 36780A I mentioned in the OP, or if there is a non-North American version of the Land Cruiser-specific that would include the HJ47.

There is a H and 2H engine manual and a body chassis manual covering the landcruisers of those years, petrol and diesel.
Ive never seen one that has the Landcruiser Stout Hiace Dyna etc in the same body chassis manual in Australia.
I think Marv Spectors company has reprinted many of the older manuals and sells them at a good price.

I've got the 2H engine manual, and I'm trying to get somebody's help to contact a seller on Gumtree for the chassis manual, but my understanding about the Maintenance Procedures is that it just outlines the various service intervals, has all of the regular maintenance suggestions and, of interest to me, may have additional wiring diagrams that show how the harness is physically constructed, rather than its electrical circuitry.

I've got an old Norforce troopy that was a comms truck. The Army made some additions and modifications to the wiring in order to support the radio equipment, and also to support lights out operation. The PO had some work done on the truck by a local mechanic who removed or modified much of what the Army had done, so there are quite a few non-stock wires up front. As I navigate the gremlins that inevitably creep in to a 30-year old vehicle I'd find it helpful to know the layout of the physical harness as originally conceived by Toyota.

My experience with Landcruiser manuals is that they give you a detailed electrical schematic for a series and show the differences for various markets. None of them show the physical lay out but you can get a fairly good idea of how its constructed.
Its better than a generic manual. But I have not used a 4* series factory manual, only the 7*
The later 7* series is diabolically long winded.
I have seen a few ex norforce vehicles, they do have a bit of extra wiring.
