Pros: A Santa Barbara, CA car from new to 245k. Car now has 269k. Driven to VT about 10 years ago, only driven in VT winters intermittently over the last 4 years. Totally original, down to all of the California emissions (which can be pulled). Interior is a 9.5/10 - certainly the nicest I've seen in any ads (no dash cracks, the slightest hint of a crack on the driver's seat vinyl). Freshly rebuilt transmission (great detents and feel), with clutch done at the same time. Completely rebuilt front brakes (calipers, etc). Every trim piece present. Brand new (7 miles) BFG All Terrain T/Os on mint 5-spoke wheels. Never in accidents; doors shut properly; get in and drive it back to CA (plan a long trip - it's a 4 speed!). A/C works!
Cons: Driven in VT intermittently over the last 4 years, so it has rust. Luckily, she undercoated it, so there is ZERO rot or really even substantial rust on the frame. Body-wise, it's an easy restoration - with only a handful of spots needing light grinding. All of the bubbling on the doors feels rock solid and you can chip as hard as you wish with a flat-head or punch and not find any of the spots to be fatal. Will need front swivel balls rebuilt.
Priced fairly at $7,500.00.
Complete parts car (w/all of the rare, unobtainable trim in place) available at $500.00 additional.
(6) Flat steel-faced (rare!) original wheels available at $400.00 additional.
(4) Studded Cooper Discoverer M/S tires with 1,000 miles mounted on original 5-spoke wheels available at $400.00 additional.
Or, take the whole lot for $8,200.00.
I'm a regular watcher of BaT and such sites, with the perennial complaint being: "classics have gotten too expensive to afford!" Well, this one does not fit that mold. Lots of pics on hand, but happy to send photographs any areas requested.
