1983 FJ60 4 speed transfer case question...

Does anybody know what t/case came behind the 1983 gasser 4 speeds, was it the 2.29 or was it the 1.96?

I thought all split t-cases were 2.28 but I could be wrong.

83 gasser will be the 34 mm idler shaft thus a 2.276:1 low.
The later 38 mm idler shaft has the 2.296:1 low.

Thanks Chris, it's getting done slowly. Being in school and 250 miles away doesn't help either.

Agreed. It seems that all the split cases behind H41's and H55's came with the 1.99 gearing.
